Annual Enrollment Employer Information

Welcome back!

Annual enrollment opens Monday, October 19 and concludes the end of the business day on Friday, November 6, 2020. This is an opportunity for employees to review and update their benefit elections. As a reminder, FlexComp elections must be made on an annual basis. Benefit election changes are generally effective on January 1, 2021 unless otherwise noted.

Options to Complete Annual Enrollment Elections

1. NDPERS Member Self Service (MSS)

Employees should review their benefits and update any of their elections through Member Self Service (MSS) starting Monday, October 19, through Friday, November 6. If employees are updating their life insurance elections, they might need to complete and submit a printed Evidence of Insurability (read the Paper Applications section).

2. Paper Applications

We encourage employees to update their benefit elections online through MSS. However, we offer the option to print and download forms. Employees must use the most current applications available on the NDPERS website. All paper applications must be dated by the employee on or before November 6 and must be received at NDPERS, from the employer, no later than November 13, 2020.

Any applications submitted in outdated versions of the forms will be rejected.

Completed and signed applications must be mailed by the employer to NDPERS, at least, once a week. This process applies to printed Voya Life Insurance - Evidence of Insurability (EOI) forms.

NDPERS will process these requests and update your organization's Employer Self Service (ESS) Benefit Enrollment Report.

NEW FEATURE! New hires during Annual Enrollment

Employees hired within the last 31 days will see a call-out in red over the Annual Enrollment tile. Remind your new hires to complete their benefit elections for 2020 before proceeding to their Annual Enrollment elections for 2021.

To complete their 2020 elections, they must first click on NDPERS plans. Once they complete their 2020 elections, they can proceed to make elections for the next year by clicking on the Annual Enrollment tile.
