Evaluation of Worksite Wellness Programs

Posted 1/03/18 (Wed)

NDPERS along with the Department of Health (DOH) and University of North Dakota (UND) completed an evaluation of worksite wellness programs for hypertension, diabetes, myocardial infarction and stroke through a grant from the Million Hearts Program. The evaluation concluded that through the promotion of these programs, unplanned health care utilization is reduced greatly.

The study used unidentifiable health data for active employees from July 2010 – June 2015. UND provided a detailed analysis of the data during the NDPERS Board Meeting held in December 2017. The methods, findings, overall evaluation as well as limitations are also described in this document.
