Overview

Delta Dental is the carrier for this plan. Visit their online portal at Delta Dental.
Permanent state employees, university system employees, Garrison Diversion and district health unit employees are eligible to participate as long as they are 18 years of age, work at least 20 hours per week for at least 20 weeks per year in a permanent position that is regularly funded and not of limited duration.
Initial enrollment period is within 31 days of employment into an eligible position or within 31 days of a qualifying event.
NDPERS conducts an Annual Enrollment in the fall each year with coverage effective January 1 of the following year.

Once enrolled, members are required to maintain their coverage for the full calendar year unless:

Qualifying event: Members may add dependents or adjust their level of coverage within 31 of the qualifying event.
Termination/Changes in Employment Status: Members may become ineligible due to an employment change such as termination or becoming a temporary employee.
Premiums are pre-taxed: Members who experience a FlexComp qualifying event may be able to remove a dependent or cancel their coverage when premiums are pre-taxed.
Dependents may only be removed mid-year if they become ineligible.
